With some smart plumbing it can still go off road.

If I've read correctly that thing has mid mount turbo's. I have a transfer case, front tailshaft and front diff in the way.

the reason I put that pootube link up was to say where there is a will there's a way and even though it may not have been done with a 302 I am sure it has been done before or close to it. A twin setup I thought would have given you more overall rev range boost and thats why I mentioned it.

Either way the one I posted up I think is a 2wd anyway

Nic - GT4088 is too big. Something like a GT3582/3576 would be perfect. Capable of mid to high 300rwkw figures, and spool rather rapidly on a 5L. I'd go a 1.06 Rear and 0.7A/R Front on a GT3582R. Precision, a 6266. Precision turbo's only really come into thier own in big boost situations.

OO0Y4 - BA2 XR6 Turbo, Nizpro Plenum, Process West stage 3 cooler, 4” dump, 3.5” exhaust, ID1000’s, ZF Auto - 11.8@116

That turbo would be perfect.

I thought the precisions were a yank turbo. Will have to look at them in greater detail.

My turbo is currently a T60-1 compressor wheel in a T04S housing with p trim turbine wheel in T4 split pulse .70a/r turbine housing, more than 14psi the t66/t04r wheel comes into its own.

Like daz said stroke doesnt spool turbo as quick as the 4ltr so turbine housing requirements are slightly different.

3'' exhaust with p trim exhaust wheel + .70 turbine houing will handle 300rwkw easy.

Personally If i started from scratch again id use the gt3582r

Is there a plain bearing option for the GT3582R? For a truck that will see 80% street, 15% off road (trundling along at no more than 1500rpm and minimal throttle) and 5% drag strip is the extra cost of a ball bearing turbo worth it? This is turning into a bit of a f**k because the combinations are endless.

Raptor
Did you ever run the T04S comp wheel to compare it to the 60-1 by any chance? Reason I ask is you can fit any wheel up to a T76 into a 60-1 compressor cover. I like to think of it as the aftermarket version of high flowing.

There isn't a Journal bearing version of the GT3582, but you can get them brand new for $1842 for a 4 bolt dump, externally gated version. If your looking at Journal bearing for cost reasons, then Precision have some rather competetive pricing on the journal bearing stuff.

The T04S is just the regular .70 4'' inlet 2.5'' outlet cover that the majority of turbo's run,
I had a sheet with all the housing options and s**t from garrett but i cant seem to find it.

GT3582r does come in plain bearing gcg sell them i think from around $1800, well it was that price early last year when i went in and spoke to them about my options.

The current comp housing ive got now is a .60a/r 4''in 2.5'' out, which i feel for my current setup is probably the best im going to get without upgrading to ball bearing cores.

Again i believe a gt3582r will be more than enough turbo for what you want.
