by putting a 12psi actuator on a stock xr6t will i make any gains?

Not without a tune and possibly a exhaust upgrade, but may do damage without a tune atleast.

all it does is make it run higher boost am i correct?

yes, and above the level it is tuned for. You will also need injectors and pump.

already got injectors from the previous owner, from what i understand i would put the actuator on run it for a bit then put a flash box tune on it..

If you change the actuator, DO NOT drive it until it has been tuned unless you want to build a new motor
