Just wondering if anyone knows anything about DSM Turbos?

I'm considering this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ford-turbo-k ... 4aab23d4ee

as a cheap boost solution in my cruiser running EF I6. I did some googling but didn't turn up much (that made sense to me). Is it a chinese dud or what? In the pic it has A/R .70 M24 on the compressor housing. Aren't they Garrett numbers??

Manifold and the rest of the kit looks good to me. Has anyone used this kit before?

Appreciate any help.

Ray

good looking manifold actually, even if the turbo turns out to be rubbish. however it could all be made out of melted down teapots from vietnam...

Oh so you think it might be one of those ceramic turbos?

I've sent the seller a question about it. Agree though, the manifold and the rest of the kit looks good. My only concern is the turbo. The price for the kit should answer my question - chinese turbo, but I'm hoping someone here tells me they are ok.

for the price of the kit, the turbo would probably be an ultra cheapy.i.ive never heard of them,, as they say you get what you pay for..
considering a quallity garrett is around the $1300-$2000 mark depending on the type,
i wouldnt expect great quality as in reliabillity or life span from a cheapy turbo, but it will still give the desired result if set up right..

Turbo is hit and miss but the manifold looks nice. Just buy it and swap the turbo over when it blows up. Could be weeks, could be years. I know of a monster performance ebay T04E that has been going strong now for about 3 years so they aren't exactly that bad.

Hi Ray,
I'm actually using his manifold now on my EF Fairmont with a cheap chinese T70 & 50mm wastegate, have had it on the car for nearly a year now & have never had an issue with it, manifold has a 12mm flange and all welded up nice & clean.
For the money you spend it's good value, I only added a 12:1 FMU and retained my 2.5" Exhaust and couldn't be happier on 8psi
I say go for it :)

Alex.

Alot of people are using his manifolds, from all reports they are a very good bit of gear.

Don't know about the turbo though.

Cheers for the advice. Depending on his reply I'll probably go ahead. Should get the old FJ40 moving a little more briskly. :D

For that price you get the Log Manifold, long runner manifold is an extra $300.00.
