Hi

Just dropped a V8 Cleveland C10 Auto and a nine inch diff will be next on the program.

The motor is just sitting where the six cylinder mounts normally bolt upto. The engine is to far forward and needs to be brought back towards the rear end another two to three inches.

Up to suspending the engine and auto in the engine bay and having taken all the measurements. About to remove the K-frame and start cutting and fabricating the mounting section as to obtain more set back of the engine. Move the engine back approximately 3 inches in total

Also two turbos are going to be hanging of the exhaust manifolds with a custom plenum , fuel injection , wolf engine managment system and big intercooler.

and nick no time frame

Here are some pictures

Also need EA falcon parts for this project ONLY if there cheap or give away will consider whole cars or partly dismantled.

cheers

Hi

As far as registration goes no , probably impossible due to EPA rules and so on.

Sourced a Ford V8 351 cleveland EFI plenum wooooo not cheap

K-frame is out and the lower control arm bolts are seize in both sides in the lower control arm bushes. Tried to force them out with a decant size hammer didn't even budge them LOL

Will try and soak the bolts with penetrene solution see if that helps and then use the hammer again to drive the seized bolts out  :(

cheers

Dansedgli HOW MUCH ????

ok , did a bit more work in the last few days , couldn't get the lower control arm bolts out  so had to use the oxy torch  and burn the bush out and cut the bolt from both sides to save the arm . K-frame back in the car adjusting engine for clearances around the motor , rear gearbox mounts is made front engine mounts nearly finished.

Passenger side head very close to heater hose outlet/inlet. Engine is set back as far as possible.

Just had enough room to fit a clapper starter motor , rack&pinion coupling is extremely close . Do have some room to play around with this tho.

Next few days i should also have the turbos hanging of the exhaust manifolds.

Hopefully will have a mount kit avaliable for people interested in doing such a engine swap.

Will have to investigate a hi_torque starter motor for a cleveland , compact and a reduction gearbox setup so have ample torque to start the motor. Just depends on the price of one  . Will get a price of these guys tommorow http://www.enginecentre.com.au/starters-ford.html

STILL CHASING EA EB ED PARTS OR COMPLETE CARS CONDITION NOT IMPORTANT

cheers

hi

Cleveland is finally mounted , with all the right clearances.

Actually more room in a EA falcon than a XE falcon .

Open heart surgery - Cleveland 2bbl 2V inlet manifold gutted out.

Will make up some internal same length trumpets and box them of with a plenum and incase the lot with a twin throttle body setup at the front.

The top of the plenum will be removable ( bolt on ) for access purposes
lets see what happens.

cheers

if the car has rego, just keep it registered.. clevlands dont pass EPA tests cos they arent EFI, but with EFI & twin hi-flo cats it would no problem imo.

good luckwith the project :d

:D Heaps of people have fitted Clevos to EA's etc. "Pierced1" has one fitted to an EA sedan (appears to be registered?) and "66 coupe" has one in a EA wagon Link to posts about both.

Of course there is others, some are just a POS and others have made it to magazines etc, there used to be a soggy suspension POS looking EA in Newcastle fitted with a Cleveland.

But I have never seen an EA fitted with a Clevo and turbos, now that is a bit different, now has anyone fitted a big block to an E series?

Hi

Macca thanks , yes nice job pierced1,
the guys have done on the forum. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... 681#683681

Just got a quote for a small reduction starter motor $295-oo plus GST plus freight from http://www.enginecentre.com.au , picture is IHI-106 http://www.enginecentre.com.au/images/imi-ford-s.jpg which has been replace now with a IHI-906 .
The starter motor is half the size , have the weight and double the torque of you standard cleveland starter motor.

Just toying with the Inlet manifold i have gutted out. Exploring all different possibilities i can make a plenum . Need volume in the plenum which will make it large.

Whether i go with a rectangular or a cylindrical shape we see .

Might have to give the twin throttle body idea away and just put some 90 to 100mm single throttle body on.

Injector bosses on the cleveland manifold just at the end of the port of the runners on the manifold only allow one to point the injectors straight down into the floor of the port entry. Not a very good idea , ideally the flow parth should follow the contours of the cylinder head port flow aimed about the center of the inlet valve.

May have to explore the idea of mounting the injectors in the side of the plenum the right side point into the left side of the inlet port and the left side pointing to the right side inlet port.

Another option is mount the injectors on the top of the plenum pointing into the trumpets inside the plenum like the F1 cars do theirs.

a lot of d**k around mmmmmmmmmmm for just a cleveland.

cheers
