The other reason these coolers are cheap is because of the small square walled end tanks; 3 panels slapped welded together. Better quality coolers cost more as the end tanks are manufactured with a smooth shaped single sheet of alloy, they are more efficient as flow is less disrupted.

I run an used, bolt-in ASE cooler, no tune yet, picked up 14rwkw, but the throttle response is what I noticed was much nicer and crisper. So, if you're gonna get a cheapy, get a decent sized core, and pay attention to the end tanks.

Bar and plate can get away with smaller side tanks compared to tube and fin...
In most cases they are way big enough for the power level...
If you re after serious power then use the serious parts..
If intake air is getting too hot ?? Then consider lowering boost or up grading your blower / turbo..
