hey all,
iv got a ed wagon thats done 300ks. i was thinking about dropping an ef engine in, would i be able to use the ed trans with the ef engine?
ultimatey i want to turbo the ef but just checkin out my options.

What ecu do you plan to run? wouldn't you be better off going a el engine as it runs the dissy the same as your ed? not the multi coil system. Would be less stuffing around for yourself.

Can use an EF motor no worries, just pull out the cam angle sensor and drop in your existing distributor.
Yes, ED trans will bolt straight up.
Motor will go straight in using all your existing ancillaries.

if your gona eventually tuebo why not go a ba turbo and trans set-up. there getting cheaper

hey if i go 4 a ba xr6 turbo, will it just drop in or will i need mounts made up etc...?? my wagon is an ed 94. iv found a ba xr6 turbo with 5spd box and clutch..

definatly will NOT drop straight in, major work is involved. Best option is going a low KM EL motor, not able to get that, then yeah an EF motor modified as above. Do you intend on using the BBM or log manifold when you turbo? If BBM and you are looking at turbo sooner rather than latter, while the motor is out open the BBM and remove the butterflies.

ok i have an xr6 ef 2 in my sights at the moment going for $750 buy now, would that be an option to go with??.. or an el going for $450?.
