Keep surfing through here..
First I would up grade fuel system..
Bosch or Walbro 255 in tank fuel pump
Then 42 Lb injectors and stand alone ECU...
Tune it N/A then make your mind up what type of forced induction your going for...
http://www.snortperformance.com/
have a good turbo kit...
A good tuner won't charge too much if at all to re tune after fitting forced induction... Aim for around 250 RWKW and things will be relatively reliable, depending on driving style...

if you have everything set up right and a really good tune, you will be able to run stock internals fine (as long as you dont expect huge kws out of them)... a bad tune is what kills a motor, i know people who spend thousands and thousands on tuning, just to get it right....

Main thing to understand is its not a small job to turbo it, it does cost a bit of money, and you really need to know what your doing before you start...

if it was as easy as some people think it might be, everyone would be doing it

NO wait till it breaks.. There are heaps of them in wreckers going for under $600 with low klrs...
If it isn't blowing oil, its fine..
With ECU you TUNE for the higher compression...
We have a complete std A.U engine in an E.D with 9.2 compression and it handles 12 Lb boost no worries...

sorry to hijack the thread but i'm also interested in going turbo for a new project. an EL XR6 manual.

rough estimate, wat would i need to spend on a turbo kit/computer and tune/ maybe strengthen motor to get around 300rwkw?
will a ACL race series rebuild be capable to take this or need to go forged?

will the T5 handle this power?

cheers

you'd need at least a Snort stage4 kit (thats the gt3540 one) - $5000
aftermarket ecu (new) - over $1500
internals - im not sure of prices here, but if you go forged prices go high

T5 will not handle it

T5 = BOOM....

I wouldnt recommend running more then 200rwkw through a t5.

i wouldnt go to JMM, nor would most of the guys here, a DIY kit will come out cheaper even after paying to get it fitted than a JMM kit
