Maybe this will help you understand. See the oil pump? You cant cut the sump. If you think you can, you're blind and an idiot.

Unfortunately i cant find an equivalent for the e series motors. Nor the au. Guess they werent important enough to have a pretty section cut through them...

bry40l...you obviously didn't do first aid. When you get a burn, you run cold water over it...stops blistering of the skin. If you put ice, you will shock your cells more and causes the affected area to blister... :P

By the way, on the topic of conversions...can you run a dry sump on the BA/BF/FG engines? It will negate the need of a fat a*** sump...or am I dreaming.

Anything is possible phongus. Although i dont know whether a $2000 dry sump setup on the barra motors is worth it for the gain you get.

hahaha well i used to wrap ice into a tea towel so it didnt blister, i guess now i need some cold water for my burn,
dry sump would be a good idea if it was doable,
edit:not for $2000

$2000 is just an estimate. I dont know of any kits out there at the moment. The only reason you would switch to dry sump is heavy racing where you dont want oil splashing around everywhere and not lubricating properly. Could even cost a lot more, if its a one off custom set up. Plus the only gain someone who doesnt race would get would be time saved in just dropping the motor straight into an ef/el k-frame. $100 + engineering + 3 hours time OR $2000+ dry sump setup? hmmmmm...

Nah couldnt find one of fg either.
Did find this though. Shows a noticable k-frame difference and sump size and setup to e series.

FG will not fit. They run a rear bowl sump.

I havent seen one myself but I've heard the FG I6 has a rear sump due to the new k-frame setup for the new suspension and front mounted steering rack.

*Edit - Beaten to the punch

Before you start mouthing off again and telling people to "f**k off", check your facts. You are thinking of an AU engine, mod the sump, alternator and AC mounts. Unless you mod the sump you need to mod the K-Frame on and EB/ED let alone EF/EL. B series sumps can't be cut up due to the oil pump location so you need to mod the K-Frame.

I think you need to listen to people that know what they are doing instead of mouthing off and making claims that you can't back up. Wake up and read before engaging typing finger or listen, learn and think before engaging mouth.
