He is using the 4 speed BTR with a Jim Moch high stall converter.

Apparantly they allow stall speeds of up to 3100 without going into limp home mode as long as the temp is kept under control.

ummm, no, i was judging that book by the review of that book published in performance ford...

my point being, i dont know anything bout it other than what the story said, wrecker engine blah blah blah, do you happen to know of that manifold being non-standard??

my point was, it IS not a custom plenum is it, all i said was he retained the std manifold...

That EA is running nitrous as well.

Dont beleive everything you read in the magazines. I bought my last AU beleiving the specs in performance ford. I sold it on and the engine was dead stock except for forgies and a cam. The magazine had me beleiving otherwise.

This is what a Rajab plenum looks like. It bolts onto the standard runners and is apparantly the most responsive on the market.

My apologies for all the other crap in the picture.

How much did this plenum set you back and would it work for N/A Applications ??
I assume by the looks of the shape its to replace the top half of an EF/EL BBM manifold ?

i think you'll find that one is for an RB30. also looks like a 6boost RB30 exhaust manifold on the other side

Yeah its for an RB30. It was $1100.

That is also a 6boost manifold as was said above.

This is a good thread. I've oftern wondered why no one is offering a cheap good quality plenum for ford sixes like the vl turbo guys have with this bloke;

http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=46412

(awesome product for an awesome price).

I've contacted him about making plenums for the ford sixes but he didnt seem too interested unfortunately.

So if anyone knows anyone that does have a quality product for around $650 please let me know.

thanks

LOL , i will be experimenting with a few different types of plenum setup for EA to AU Inline 6 cylinder motors

I will try a few different variations in runner length, diameter , plenum chamber size, shape round , rectangular, taped front to raer, bellmouth , trumpet entry front throttle body and other positions

there are alot of different possible setup combinations but which will work the best will find out on the engine dyno

But there are a few big horse power I6's just using the factory style manifolds from the early EA falcon MPI and the EF BBm manifold style also

be a interesting exercise

cheers

as far as i know pyroay was using the stock BBM and throttle body with 312rwkw. What about pulling the bbm apart, taking the butterflys out and removing the RPM switch which operates them, then chopping the guts out of the BBM so it is esssentialy one large plenum??
