The normal questions:

Was it dyno tuned or are the maps downlaoded?
Where was it done?
Do you have the print outs of power, boost and torque?
How much boost does the map run?
What other mods have you done?

I have a BFII XR6T, exhaust and dyno tuned using the CAPA flash tuner and haven't had a problem.

Do your self a favor and get a custom tune done, that way you'll get more power and the tune will be safe.. That noise your hearing could be deternation..
I'm assuming your just using CAPA generic tunes??

If you dont get a custom tune atleast put it on the dyno just to make sure its safe..

Dude, generic maps are to be used as a guide.

I had mine ride done on the dyno and have had the ignition retarded slightly, as I requested because it was pinging slighty.

I'll tell you that I have got a K&N filter, stainless exhaust and a big hole in my air box. I don't see the point of the second CAI on the boosted engine personally, it's got an after cooler and it's there to cool the charge air. Let it do it's job.

Got side tracked ... I'm just shy of the 300rwkw club with the factory fuel system on 8psi.

Get it done on the dyno and let us know how you go.

that big hole in your airbox IS a second CAI

how far shy?
who is your tuner?
by factory fuel system i presume you mean stock injectors and fuel pump?

I don't deem the hole in the air box as a CAI, as it can and does draw warm to hot air from behind the radiator. It has no ducting, deflectors or shields what so ever.

I'm in the lower end of 290 - 300rwkw.

And you assume right when I say factory fuel system. I currently run the factory injectors and pump. Which I might add are at the end of their flow ability. The injectors are running at 100% duty.

I won't mention my tune shop. As a new user, it may be considered that I'm here to promote a business which is not a sponcer.

its still a second intake is my point, as you say you think a second one is pointless... :?

i find 290-300rwkw on standard injectors @ 8psi a very ambitious figure...
hence why i wondered whose dyno it was on.

My stock injectors leaned out at around 260 and I had it tuned back to 250 for safety so yeah, 290 is a bit of a stretch...

I also second that 290 is a VERy big strech on standard injectors, my old car was running 240rwkw and after i put about 1-2000km on it with the generic tune it screwed the plugs and then after i replaced them it only took another 500km-1000km before i could see/feel it starting to f**k the plugs again so i got bigger injectors and a custom tune.... all sorted

I said a second CAI is pointless, but a second air intake is nice for boosted engines.

Had the tune done at 3000km (240rwkw 5psi 273rwkw 8psi). Clutch started to slip at 22000km. Changed it and ran it again, just for fun and found the extra legs (277rwkw 5psi 290'srwkw 8psi).

It starts to get lean at about 5500rpm. But because I don't rev it hard it's not an issue for me. I drive on torque, not power.

back on topic, was wondering if u filled it up with premium 98? even dropping it to 95 could have it pinging easily.... and thats a noise noone ever likes to hear!!!

You need to have spark plugs gapped at 0.8 to run the boost ur running. That could be ur problem.

I also highly recommend u flash back to stock tune and get a custom tune.
Generic tune mite harm ur engine if it is pinging...
