If I get another complete set of six, they'll definately cost $50AU plus the postage to you. Am happy to do it for you... Not sure on if there's another set around (people seem to want $20 *EACH* for them in general, but I'm a cheapskate from way back....)

Okay brother, I should have a set this time tomorrow... I found some from a DIAMONTE but they are different right??? As are the V3000 and LEGNUMS even tho they all use a V6 motor, and the fuel rails are the same, they definately do not look the same as the Ford ones...

Hmmph - Guess I answered me own question - You do not want anything other than the MAGNA TR / TS

Just be cafeful with water injection on the m90's. I've heard cases of the water slowly stripping the teflon coating on the rotors

Hi Gaz..

I thought of that too,, so I was thinking of putting it directly after the charger into the hot air on it's way to the intercooler..

Won't that run the risk of condensing in the intercooler? And after an intercooler, wouldn't the air be cold enough to not require the water injection? I ain't no scientist, but spraying water into a path of moving air miles away from its end point seems less effecient in a whole manner of ways than putting it in just before the fuel gets added... Ferrari used a system of mixing the fuel with water and injecting that mixture...? I seem to recall they got up to 6:4 ratio of fuel and water at some point.

Seems uterly silly, really. Waste of good water that could be used to create Hydrogen with just another simple conversion or two........

Not really.... and there is no such thing as "cold enough" since a normal cooler is not 100% efficient, it can' reduce the air temp to "amibant".... and I doubt that condensation is much of a problem in a tube filled with air that is up to 80 degrees C.

Water injection works, because because it takes a heap of energy to convert water to steam... the point at which the air is hottest, is straight out of the blower.. so I put the water in there. (a fine mist) and heap of it evaporates taking a load of the heat with it.. the intercooler does the rest and I have a much lower likelihood of detonation as well.

Having said that, I could also do it on the way back to the intake from the intercooler.... I just havent' worked out the best method yet.... good fun though.. :-)

Oh, and I plan on creating HHO as well.. but I plan on supplementing the power requirements with Solar and heat energy..

I drive to work in the morning and home at night.. during the 8 hour day I park at the UNI in the sun usually.. my battery is currently topped up via a solar panel on the back shelf. I want to add a second bigger one to the back shelf and a second battery charged by them... and running HHO production...

I've also been reading up on massively improved electrolysis via heat and considering seeing if the extractors could be used in this regard to make use of the otherwise wasted heat for something practical.

Normal HHO is like trying to get energy from nowhere.. I plan to use wasted heat and solar energy to see what I can do.. good experiment anyway....

Oh, and Mr Fiend..

you might find this interesting about water injection...

http://autospeed.com/A_107970/cms/article.html

- Higher compression possible.
- More advanced timing possible.
- cleaner engine internals.
- Much lower chance of detonation... great for power from boost.

And it wouldn't be running all the time.. just at certain throttle levels or perhaps intake temps.

I honestly think detonation comes from a bad tune, leaning out and possibly poor fuel.

Maybe another option might be water-air intercooling, it would kill 2 birds with one stone, especially with the boost you are planning to run.

Quite a few cars stateside use water/meth injection with great results too, but with the amount involved with rigging it all up it would be the same effort with water-air. Price wise it aint that bad for water-air intercooler kits, unless you go PWR with their barrel coolers.

Maybe try here, they are cheap enough.

Ive never liked water injection, I almost considered getting it, but i could imagine cranking it over one day and the motor hydrolocking, im just a bit skeptical about it i guess. But many people have made it work with no probs too. :)

yeah... my main reason for considering it is that I'll be able to get more from the factory EL ECU with less chance of killing anything.

As far as safety goes.. having it dump in the pipe exiting the SC, means that any leakage would end up at the lowest point, which would be the bottom of the intercooler if it did leak... Also, I have a electronic brass switch that goes inline on the water line and doesn't allow water though unless it has current, that will be hooked up to the ignition as a safety measure. (it was intended for a hi pressure gas setup, but will work fine for low pressure water.)

And, it will only pump on demand.

Its all an experiment.. I'm only going to try this because autospeed show how to build a pretty decent water injection system for less than a hundred bucks, and I'm notoriously cheap.. :-)

i rekon a jaycar RPM switch would work great...

or hook it up to a thermo switch made for air temp so once it gets to a certain temp THEN the rpm switch will engage and once you hit a certain RPM the water injection turns on...

Possibly.. but boost makes for every high temps on an M90, I may just want to base it on having it switch on when more than 5PSI of boost is happening.

New update, I bought a water to air intercooler like this one:

Image

This means I will be able to massively reduce and simplify my piping requirements... considering I got this thing on ebay for 90 bucks, the price was right too and he lives just down the street so no delivery charges. Also, the huge air to air would have lost at least a PSI or two from expansion, and this one will have close to straight though piping so boost should be up from where it would have been with the Air to Air.

The new charger coupler has arrived from the US as well, so I'm going to change that and the oil before putting the whole thing in the car so I don't have to worry about it for a while.

Going to use the biggest air con cooler I can lay my hands on to use as a radiator for the water and I've sourced a "Whale" pump which apparently work well with these things and cost only 50 bucks.

Progress is proceeding and now that I'm using water to air.. it should be much more stealth than trying to hide a ruddy huge shinny air to air job. (which is now for sale if anyone is interested and is in Perth.)

Also, thanks to all the help I've had from people on here, I almost have all the wiring done in an adaptor plug.. I just want to replace a dodgy plug on one end and it'll be done.

Mate --- Believe it or not I have one of those intercoolers sitting in my blown up Subaru out the front. I think I might take it off and set it aside for my eventual following in your footsteps. You da man.

I actually have read that (and other) articles ages ago before I found other people doing it on this site too.

I like the idea of water injection. God knows my poor old EF was spitting enough water through its system anyway... And it ran and ran and ran - even with the rusty pistons!

The idea of water injection is a good one.. there are a couple of factory cars with it out there..

I'll look into it after I have all the hard work done.

right now I have plenty of other things to do.. I picked up the intercooler and the entrance pipe is only 2 inches across.. so I will cut it back at the point where it is 2.5 inchs to get the best flow.

This thing is in as new condition... very impressed.

got a lot of tech hints this end , just pm me

still playing with the nc getting it right , the wolf3d v500 , wideband afr , now running 500cc accel injectors , its own on board eeepc computer are really helping but takes time
