Morning all can someone please steer me in the right direction as were if any in Mandurah WA were I can get some serious advice on what and cant do to my ford 2005 BA XR6T as I have spoke with Lane Ford and as they dont do Mods only bolt on stuff and could'nt really tell me what and cant do to keep warranty un voided. There must be someone out there that know someone knowlegable or deem competent in this area around the Mandurah "Peel" area.

Kind Regards

Milo Mann

P.S. Keep on Fordin along ;-)

There isn't too much that won't void factory warranty, most people work on how much they can hide should something go wrong. Maybe wait till your warranty is done if its your biggest concern

i've heard, (might be wrong) that it leaves a tell tale sign in the ecu that ford can see if they do a diagnostic on it.

if you have an engine problem and they see you've tuned it, bye bye warranty.

As above, however no one's been able to confirm it.

Warranty = No mods
Mods = No Warranty

easy.

i can confirm u can tell when a car is running a tune, (or has been) as the tuners always put the calibration suffix as AA or AAA, regardless of which tune is loaded.

Yeah that bit's easy. But apparently Ford can tell even if you flash back to stock. - That bit's unconfirmed.

Apparently an 'unknown' code is displayed on the WDS system when the car is plugged in. Only those who do warranty investigations know what number the code is. Or something like that.

I have heard it is only on the BF models that its a definate that they can pick up whether the car has been flashtuned, even if its stock.

Regardless, how much longer have you left on your warranty? If its a few months, I'd wait it out. if its years, I'd take your chances if temptation becomes too much.

the only thing you can do and 100% honest with them is a cat back exhuast,even a k&n air filter can bring warrenty into doubt if they really want to make life hard for you a lot depends on your dealer and there view
