That's odd. Never had any problems running my EL in 3rd. Guess it's a matter on how the accelerator is fed on. Probably the difference between 'assertive' and 'mash it'.

yeh i always run myne in 3rd and its ok. just gotta start at the right speed, and dont slam the pedal down

3rd gear can pose a speed limiter issue for some people.

Also the ramp speed will affect kickdown.
