Hi dudes, just wondering what effect the stock ECU will have when running a turbo setup on my AU1.

I work for a Ford parts place so i can get it all cheap as hell except the ECU, could i run sort of 9psi or something and just upgrade the fuel system with a 500hp pump and a R/R Regulator? Im sure i read in the guide here that i need to use a different TPS also but i cant find it?

Cheers

wont work to well without a flash tune and 2 bar map sensor.. the std map sensor cuts ignition over 2 psi boost. and without a proper dyno tune the engine will just lean out, ping and melt pistons...

As Troy said.
What astounds me is why people want to turbo their cars whilst leaving their ecu's alone.
You can save so much heartache and pain by saving a little more and even getting a low end ecu.
Even mega squirts aren't that pricey and can do everything a high end ecu can do.

Yeh mate
You're better off waiting a little while longer, saving and doing it right. At least you wont have the headache of pulling the car off the road or stuffing things in the process.

even with e series at least you can chip it and tune the standard ecu, i think on au you can aswell? but also have the ability to flash tune? maybe au 1 took a chip?

Get a J3 chip for the AU ecu. Cheapest way, and should get you going.
