i have been offered a STA side mount supercharger by its self at a reasonable price, does any one have any idea on these are they any good? and can you get much power out of them?. the blower could be going on a 351 windsor i just bought to go in my XR fairmont.

ive been told they not the best, and i realise that the design are getting old now but just want to know if this will be a worth wile project.

I've heard they're a pretty average blower Craig.
I'm not sure but they should just flow enough air for the old 351.
If you're getting it for a good price, then you could always give it a go, and if it doesn't work, flog it off to someone else.

Also, didn't you notice me today, at the roundabout where IGA is. I was in the XR8 Ute. I think about 4 other people waved, but you didn't spot me. haha

How much is a "reasonable price"? Unless it was like $100, i wouldn't bother....even then, I still doubt i would do it.

Keep an eye out for a powerdyne head unit. It flows OK, is upgradable to a better design impeller if you want more grunt, and at the absolute least, you can still get rebuild parts if it drops a belt or bearing etc...

Can you still get replacement/rebuild parts for an STA head unit?

Of course, if you trip over a wad of cash in the street, one of the larger Vortech or ProCharger head units would be real nice :)
