Hey all, Ive Just bought a 1997 EL Fairmont Ghia V8.
I was looking at buying a blower kit from capa but I wanted a vortech T-trim as a minimum....... Got a few things up my sleeve for this baby! Already got my big shot nos system! So what could be done about getting a vortech kit to suit my car with a T-Trim blower?

I've only quickly skimmed through the thread so apologies if this has been asked before, will these kits be supplied with emissions certificates? I'm really really itching for more power but legality is also of major importance to me and to mr insurance company.

the actual kit would be engineered but once you install it you will need to go get your car engineered with the kit on it, because they want to make sure the installation is up to standard and also to make sure the car is also up to the task of having a 50 - 60 % power increase , safety wise.

so no you have to get it engineered once its installed

Will these kits be read before or after tax time??
Coz if its after tax time that would be really good.

Sorry guys no real info as yet because snort is still awaiting the shipment. It's looking more and more like a paxton novi 1000 than anything else so i will change the title when i get the chance, sorry for those who really wanted a vortec. They are the same thing though so it doesn't worry me any. As for all the questions regarding the pullies etc, the kit will be made with only one set made to 6-9 psi or there abouts, if you require a different set then it will cost more.

I have a feeling that none of us will see a kit until tax time or a little after due to the shipment times. I don't have much more info at this point but as far as the legalities are concerned you will still have to have to mod plate the vehicle in question. I have a mod plate on mine already for an old turbo setup so it will be ok. In queensland it's fairly simple and non costly to have done, it cost me 80 bucks and the bloke came to my place to do it, pretty sweet deal i thought.

Apart from that i'm going to give snort a call and see whats happening over the weekend, if any info comes to hand i'll post it up. cheers.

Superchargers should get hear this week snortperformance has told me. If this happens the kits will be coming out the door in around 4 weeks. Price may have gone up by a few bob but nothing more than 200 tops. Itching like a dog to see the end results but it's all coming togeather now. Will let you guys know when the units drop in from the US.

I am interested ... but would probably prefer the PD blower though. I'd like a quieter system ... plus running on dedicated LPG as well ... and only looking at low boost application anyway (without cooler).

Then again I'd need to save up to upgrade the auto transmission and brakes as well before i stick a blower on the AU work ute.

I think alot of guys will be weary of the snort kit after already knowing how the vortec and PD kits run....if osmeone was to initially get one fitted....even dynod with a vid or audio clip could be good...least thn we can see for the $$$ how they perform against the CAPA gear to see if its really worth while..that and alot of guys seem to care about the noise blowers produce so yeh an audio clip would help do it more justice to see how audible it is.
