driving it will be nice, going full throttle with no worries bout blowing gearbox will be good. plus adelaide international hasnt been open for drags since oct5 2005...

quick update, i have ordered a box from rollin imports, should get in about a week. and my car is on the ramps, have removed my gearstick and my tailshaft... then lost interest and started drinking a few pale ales

apparently it is made to not have any extra pedal effort....???

what brand did you use?? did u ever use any box other than a T5 before you went auto??

well, in case anyone has ever wanted a direct size comparison between a T5 and an R154, here you go.. the R154 is a monster, and goes to show it was built to withstand some good power levels

ive done some sums and it appears i will use about a 35mm spacer, and the stick will sit about 20mm forwards of the original

i will need to do some machining to try fit the ford transducer, since 154 uses cable, and i will need to machine up an extension for the throwout bearing support, and also machine up a ring to locate the throwout bearing support with the crankshaft

just started pulling the R154 apart, im going to get the 1st gear thrust washer custom made.

well, no major updates, other than i stripped the box, it was in REAL nice condition... bonus.

i sent the important bits away to be cryotreated, including the alloy shift forks.. hopefully be back early next week, they were sent tuesday. should be able to see ATLEAST a 50% strength increase, in some items, they have seen a 300% increase.

its just cheap insurance, i cant afford to be doing this again.

my invoices keep piling up, looking about $22000 on PARTS/MATERIALS since the start of the turbo build, that doesnt include the $4000 spent when i rebulit the engine....
