Hey all , i own a EF falcon GLI with a 4 litre stright 6 ... It has a rebuilt and strengthened bottom end , ported and polished head with the works and was just wondering wat i would need and would there be any troubles with puttin a turbo on it ??? i was thinking bout getting the snortperformance turbo kit , but people advise me the stainless manifold isnt a good idea due to coolin and warming continusly .... thanks and hope to hear some replies ..

by the sounds of your engine work you will be needed to change your compression ration! Cause high compression and forced induction aint a good mix!

As for snort kits im not too sure what they are like but in saying that they appear to have everything there ready to go which makes the job easy!

If compression ratio is around 9 to 1 your fine!!
BUT first you need bigger injectors, higher flow fuel pump, An ECU that reads boost.. Stinger, Michrotech etc..
Then Snort kit which doesn't include the above..
You could get away with some tune if you fitted gas/ LPG ?? But for relaible engine performance its best to run stand alone ECU..

I think the early snort manifolds had some issues (as with anything in development) but my stage 4 manifold is still going strong.

just get a nice fat copper head gasket that should get the compression weell down into the nines. You wouldnt want a bad batch of fuel at 10.3, could go pop!!

I wouldn't recommend a copper head gasket unless you get the head and block o-ringed, which will be quite costly. Copper gaskets are really made for engines which are regularly being pulled down and reassembled, as they're reusable. They're notoriously difficult to make seal. Good luck with the turbo ideas.
