im willing to bet thats the cam out of 6800ST, i know he had a surecam, and he did happen to run 32psi on the odd occasion although the 680hp figure is more like fwhp... that would have to be it

get it fritzz!!!! its not far off of my grind, and that is F**k killer

mate i cant think of any other car that it could possibly be out of??? i dont know of any others using surecam, and certainly no where near 32psi, and no where near 680hp (rear wheel??), i havent heard of any sohc 4l making 500rwkw ANYWHERE...

i HIGHLY recommend u get it, i wish i had a decent sound clip of my car idling for you, its nuts. Maybe ask the guy for a grind number, or spec sheet for it, i just checked an email i got from kyle a while back with his cam specs, and mine is FAR bigger than his even...

6300 peak power?? maybe, but i remeber ray hall telling me a fair while ago that getting peak power at over 5500rpm in the 4l was tough, he had an engine making 680hp that blew many head gaskets due to the huge amount of boost needed to get the high power at <5500rpm, its due to the borexstroke ratio, so they fitted an old 200ci 3.3 crankshaft to it, which let it make peak power at over 6000rpm, it made more power and needed less boost to do it and it never blew another head gasket..

For street turbo engine.. You don't need big cams to make nice power... Even with short stroke V8's a mildish cam like F303 has made over 1000 h.p....It seems high lift and wide lobe centres 114* work well....

ok thanx, this cam on ebay had

116 deg lobe sep.
valve lift .590
and the valve duration at 0.050 is 219.

Sounds very similar in specs to a turbo Crow cam ....

this reply isnt aimed at you, but for anyone looking into a turbo cam

that may be, that you dont NEED it, but, its all about effieceny, you can crank the boost up and overcome restrictive parts (causing hotter intake charge)(and increased backpressure), or you can optimise the complete setup and make more power with lower boost, remembering its the cam that dictates how much air actually gets into the cylinder

you dont NEED to port the head, change the cam, have a tuned style exhaust manifold, have custom plenum, larger throttle, or you could change all them, and make power a hell of a lot easier....

you see a lot of japanese turbo cars now seeming to run relatively big cams, previuosly youd expct a stock idle out of them, more now you hear with an angey idle

my cam, which is probably the latest turbo grind from surecam has these specs, the design criteria was wanting to run 15-17psi, make 350rwkw, be streetable, 8.4:1, 98 unleaded, decent ign system, tuned exhaust mani, custom plenum, large front mount

like i told fritzz in a pm, id be very careful of a cam with .590" lift, you would have to pick valvesprings very carefully.... and figure out what your over nose pressures are, mine runs 320lb (im fairly sure, did work it out at the time, forgotten now) and anything like 340 or more your gonna be in for rocker trouble in my opinion

lift .576"
duration @ 50' 242in 236ex
adv duration 303in 292ex
lobe sep 115

Yep the main thing is lobe centre's, that cam would be VERY unruly if it was 110* .... Over 112 and over is way better ...
Depends what you want?? Keep in mind the std cam was designed to run fairly well n/a so stuffing some pressure on inlet is going to make s**t difference...In "most" cases turbo cams are more sedate than n/a cams..
