Hey guys

im currently at the stage of rebuilding my engine for some more boost (i blew head gasket from running standard ecu) i got MSII jut got to get the loom made up and tune it up.

im looking into running about 14psi which is enough to keep me happy on a track day.

Current engine is standard Au bottem end with eb ported head and eb-el 5cc dished pistons.

I was wondering what pistons everyone running in the turbo falcons?
also what work been done to rods and crank? i had a quick chat to shop and he suggested i think it was called isotonic bath the rods and shot pan the crank(he said his bath wasn't big enough to do my crank just rods. also anyone work out any good studs to hold the head down or still a work in progress? and also whats everyone running for valves, valve springs and cams?????

it also comes to mind i herd a little trick to get a slighly better lift on valves you can machine a few thou off the feet on the rocker assembly so the top cam caps are slightly closer to the cam and makes valves open fraction earlyer and close fraction later.

and what suggested size injectors for 14psi? im ganna order a new fuel pump this week and most of the gear to get the job done just need few ideas and questions asked

Thx Jason

My boyfriend recently had his motor rebuilt so he could eventually have a turbo whacked on it.I got told its standard ea internals.Fits the compression.Would have to ask him bout the psi though.I can't remember what he wants to run.

Edit:
everyday use-3psi
1/4 mile on standard fuel system 8psi.With upgraded fuel system 15psi.Thats using a stock motor with a bolt on t3/t4 externally gated turbo(This edit was told to me while I was on the phone to him.Its the info he got off the people who built his motor)

He also said the mechanic said that ba xr8 upgraded fuel injectors, an after market fuel reg with adjustable psi, a high performance fuel pump aka racing fuel pump.Thats with the stock motor and it was suggested not to go above 17psi down the quarter only.(another off the phone post.Lol)

42 Lb injectors from E bay are a good size for street and up to 18+ Lb boost...
Our next combination is going to be Spool rods and
http://www.spoolimports.com/content/SPO ... ONRODS.asp

C.P pistons...
http://www.cppistons.com/

The Spool rods are actually for the XR6T engine.. They fit with custom pistons as the pin is smaller on the latter engines.. Spool will do the set or http://www.qri.biz/ will order the pistons ...

GOOD with EMS 8860 and tuned by JEM...
Over 65's you have to use low impedance..

so you are able to use ba rods and pistons???? i just didn't think they worked out cause the stroke on ba was 99.31mm and before series was a 96.31mm stroke.
here ACL SPEC'S

Engine: 4.0L EF-EL SOHC 12v
Capacity: 3984cc
Cylinders: 6
Bore Size: 92mm/3.62in
Stroke: 96.31mm/3.79in

Engine: 4.0L Intech SOHC 12v
Capacity: 3984cc
Cylinders: 6
Bore Size: 92.26mm3.632/in
Stroke: 96.31mm3.791/in

Engine: 4.0L BA Turbo Barra 240T 24v EFI
Capacity: 3984cc
Cylinders: 6
Bore Size: 92.26mm/3.63in
Stroke: 99.31mm/3.91in

see how ba different

do you machine a few mm off the top of the piston intill it don't over hang the block surface???? and if you go that do you cut out new valve slots so the valves don't make contact with the pistons tops or they clear without contact?

i know the big ends are same and bearing are the same ones.
thx jason

Yep smaller pin due to full floating bearing.. Pin height is adjusted in piston.. I wouldn't use std rods... maybe BF gas rods ??
But the price of spool rods are hard to beat !!

It looks as though you have a spelling mistake there!
Stroke changes, but swept engine capacity has not...??? WTF?
How does this work...
Stroke Hasn't changed since the crossflow days of 99.31mm....
