WGAF which one. I would do the XR, but thats just me. Why boost a bar just because some people on a forum told you to?

well if your going to make your decision based on the amount of posts then i vote the wagon.. just cos its an auto but if you choose the xr get a quick shifter.

i think its mainly in the driving, turbos just respond well with an auto setup. im not realy sure why i guess its a matter of opinion ..maybe less boost lost between changes, auto box ratios are lower in the first 3 gears but makes up for it in a higher ratio diff which will suit the boost range. converter slippage, ect.

Being able to sit on the stall and spool a turbo up.

That and the T5 not liking a hard time, particularly in 3rd.

WGAF. if youre gunna spend the money on a turbo you should at least want to drive the car rather than just steer...

Spooling = clutch, then dumpage. much more exciting than auto.

whats involved in strengthening the T5 box??
i've heard that you replace the tapered roller bearings with roller bearings is there anything else that need doing??

there are few people who do strengthen them like different bearings, larger shafts and heat treatment ect. my 3rd gear is starting to let go so i need to look into it. :s
