That covers it from start to finish, blokes taken pics, screen is inside the banjo fitting.

Doesn't sound like thats what cooked your mates turbo though, if it had baked on oil in the supply line and was clogged at the turbo end :?

I've seen that thread on fordforums. I wouldn't call that a filter screen. Its just the banjo fitting. If those holes are getting blocked I'd hate to see what’s happening to the oil supply holes for the big end bearings.

BAD service .. Change the oil and main filter more often.. Use a good oil... BTW its about the same $$ to overhaul one of these turbo's as it is to buy a new one...Also too much oil supply to these turbo's will make oil push through exhaust seals... If not serviced these lines can block up... So the $40 you save by not changing oil etc... Will cost $2k or $3k easy..
Let it cool for for 30 seconds or so or cruise the last klmr before shutting engine off.. Running too rich and retarded can make turbo & manifold very hot....
Not on XR6t engines .. But the stud issue can be fixed with longer studs and 10mm or so spacer pipe to keep heat away a little ...Allows for some expansion ...
