Hi a mate of mine has an XR6 turbo ute and it seems to be struggling for fuel or air at over 3500 rpm its pretty well stock just with baffles cut out of exhaust and a BOV all mods were down when car was new and its just happened all of a sudden he has taken it to ford the say the cant find anything wrong with it the reckon its the exhaust mods

been told that performance parts actually mess with the ecu and it lowers the boost to protect the engine.
even an exhaust or a new intercooler can make it do it apparently.

Adding a BOV or cutting out the baffles wont hurt it the boost, Id take off the boost solinod and clean it out with WD40, mine did the same thing

it still seems to be getting full boost on gauge just havin troube keeping fuel or spark up to it i guess

how many km's has it done? has the spark plugs been changed?
if its done over 70,000 on the original plugs then get some new ones. that should fix the problem
