well just purchased my new car, been driving it for 2-3 days
and then started to notice what sounded like an exhaust leak. left it. then the exhaust got really loud and what felt to be a big loss of power. got the car home let it cool. pulled off the cross over pipes and the rest. pulled off the heat shielding to find 2 studs and nuts missing and both top studs very very loose, on the manifold to turbo joint. (if u no what i mean) now the question is. what to do to fix this problem. 1' replace the studs and nuts (where can i get them)
2' replace studs with bolts (what size would they be id say 12mm) 3' put spring washers under the new bolts or studs? is a saturday arvo no shops are open and i dont think ford spare parts are open on sundays :-(

What froudey said. Its much easier to keep the sud and nut configuration than replace with bolts, studs just kae turbo to manifold joints easier.

The exhaust manifold bolts should be tightened on a regular basis especially the two closest to the firewall, every 5000k's or so along with an oil change works well for me. They seem to come loose easier if the car is driven hard (quite understandable I suppose).
