Hi, I've got an EF XR8 most mods have been cosmetic but I have a cat back redback system. I'm only getting mid 16's and 0-100 in 8.2 seconds. Has anyone else run a fairly stock EF or EL to compare? What do you think about the time?

It is a touch slow, I have seen a number of stock EF/EL V8's run mid 15's. Was this actually on the track? Need to get a decent set of extractors on there to let the engine breath, that along with practise should get you at least into the 15's.

It was measured with a g-tech meter. Extractors are next on the cards.

The G-techs can sometimes be a little bit out, until you have a actual track run to compare it with you won't know for sure. They are consistant though (as long as you average the runs in both directions etc) so are a really good indication to mods and lauch method etc.

Yeah it sounds a little slow to me, you're probably not launching as best as you could perhaps. Maybe a little more pratice?
I was getting a best of 15.5 down the quarter, then i fixed up my cold air problem (I had none) and i am running 15.3.

I've got a set of Genie Extractors and an Aftermarket exhaust (Already on the car when i bought it)
You should definately be in the 15's even stock i would think.

I haven't done much to my car and on a gtech i now average 15.7@90-94Mile, and my 0-100 is about 7.8secs. i stall mine up to about 2000rpm when i launch (auto).

i spose its close to what you should run with basic mods. I mean the EL XR8 series 2 in manual runs anywhere between 15-15.5 or so, and an auto i assume a bit slower ie 15.5-16.0 , so an EF XR8 with a 3.23 diff ratio an automatic would be around low to mid 16s seeing as in the early EF & EL stages the XR6's were nippier and they do low 16's or high 15's. Anybody else ?

Thats about right. My auto dead stock ran 16.2 when i first got it, and that was with no modifications. But then again, mine is a fairmont Ghia with all the fruit and only had 170kw from the factory, and is considerable heavier than an XR8

EL xr8's have the 185kw moto and the 3.45 diff and do mid 15's Ef is slower so its about as accurate as you would expect
