I remember reading they used a T5z(?) in the 220kw XR8's and T series, what is the difference between that and a normal T5? Also is there any visible difference's, as im going to have a look at one today and I really want to buy it but down't want to get jipped!

It's stronger, they are meant to withstand 330 lb of torque. they have the Ford Racing Z gear sets, how you can tell is the input shaft will have 24 teeth on the gear, not 23 like standard T5.

I bought one a while ago, obviously not strong enough for what this guy did to it though!!! Make sure you don't break it, parts aren't cheap for this type.

What is the tag on the gearbox? should be WR2T-7003-BB. If all else fails, count those gear teeth!!

cheers heaps mate, i ended up just buying the box before I read your post and now its up at the old mans shed so i cant even check, but it all looked legit and he gave me the whole lot including flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and fork. he said it only had bout 30k k's on it and by the look of the clutch and pressure plate he'd be right.
