Thanks Brett.Filler tube did'nt hit but I could'nt screw the billet alloy cap on.Had to heat the filler tube at the base with a heat gun and bend forwards slightly and mill down the cap to suit.

Fired it up this arvo with no probs (touch wood),run it till up to temp so I could do a service.Few little things to sort out and its booked in for Friday to get the exhaust connected just in time to take it for a drive on the weekend.

Yea,good race with a good outcome.I said to one of my mates who's a holden fan i'd nearly buy one cause they look good after being smacked into a wall.

The Aem was easy to install, only hard part was getting the wires through the firewall. It recommends using a swithch and 10 amp fuse that are'nt in the kit.Very happy with it,was money well spent.I posted your gear on Friday so you'll have some work to do the end of next week.

Haha nice one!!

Where exactly did you mount your sensor? Having to be mounted vertically and before the cats, i'm guessing i'm gonna have to remove an extractor to drill and weld. PITA.
Awesome, looking forward to receiving it all and fitting everything up.

Happy with the product quality of the AEM???

The quality of the AEM was good.I welded the bung after the extractors as I did'nt want to wreck the coating.Bung is pretty well straight after where the flanges bolt together and angled slightly so the sensor does'nt hit the auto or the body.I'll try and get you a pic tommorrow.Cheers.

Yea Jeff, only got a basic tune downloaded as I was having trouble getting the tweecer to run cal edit to get any fine tunning done.Finnished working on the car at bout 10:30 pm on the Tuesday night then had to pack ready to go to Indy.Left at 4:00 am.Car was running a bit rough at the start but I forgot it had 6 month old fuel in the tank.Fresh fuel made a huge differance.Gave it a bit of a flogging going up to Brissie but definately needs diff gears. Was a pretty nervous test drive 1500 kms round trip.Got another MAF in case I had trouble with mine that I ported but did'nt end up needing it.Only drama I had was on the way home I stopped in where I used to work and the heater tap blew (plastic crap).

The AEM worked great and pretty well stayed around 14.7.How'd you get on with your t/b and spacer.

Yeah those bastard heater taps are crap, go brown and brittle before they let go.

The AEM would have been heaven sent on a trip like that. Being not 100% sure about the state of tune, nothing better than being able to keep and eye on it all the time, especially being within 0.1 AFR.

I didnt end up using the EGR spacer, was too much of a PITA to fit and allow for the throttle cable bracket. Got myself an AU XR8 one off e-bay, had it polished and fitted it up yesterday. The throttle body was all sweet, just ground off the cable linkage from my original 58mm unit and fitted to the 70mm, too easy.

Wonder if anyone wants a 70mm Ford Racing EGR spacer lol, fully polished

Hope so,I feel bad now that it was'nt useable.

On a trip like that I got my money's worth out of the AEM as it would saved burning a valve out if the tune was wrong.Just takes out all the guess work and more accurate than the ones the dyno tunners use as it is taking readings before the cats.
