Dyno results from chiptorque,170 rwkw at 5000rpm.Not very happy as there seems to be a problem with it.Still having trouble with it starting sometimes,it will only start with using the throttle, seems like its flooding and chiptorque couldnt tell me why its doing it.Took it back to the engine rebuilder to get him to check it out,run it on his dyno and much the same results. The only thing that showed up on his dyno is on the fith run the air fuel ratio went way low and this was on the same run when the car could only be started with using the throttle. The motor seems like it just doesnt want to rev.Its still running the standard fuel reg as the mallory one hasent showed up yet and im using the ford motorsport maf f18f-12b579-aa.I orderded a pro-m maf but for some reason ended up with the ford one,is there much difference between these mafs.Help needed please

Clocking the maf helps the air hit the sensor wire more evenly so I am led to believe.

when you changed inlet manifolds did you fit the air charge temp sensor
to the new lower inlet manifold?

Yes coolant sensor in the heater pipe and the other one in the lower manifold. So this one is the air charge sensor? if so do they bugger up around a certain age or kms.

no the air charge temp doesnt usually give any trouble
sounds like you could have low manifold vacum when you are trying to start the engine. i could be wrong
but i think its worth looking at

Chooka, looking through your pictures again I saw that you are using the original intake pipe between your TB and MAF, is that right? Were there any issues from re-using the original pipe with your new parts?

I got a piece of 3mm plate laser cut to the origional maf shape with a 75mm hole in it then welded a 75 mm piece of pipe into it and cut it off at 10mm.This bolted straight up to the air box and a 3 to 3.5 inch turbo hose to the maf, this was done after the pics.Tried to stretch the origional hose over the maf but it split over time.A dyno run was done with it all conected up and one just through the maf (no airbox)with no difference to power figures. After comming back from chiptorque pulled the plugs out and found no 1 fouled with carbon or something and no 2 lead was hitting the extactors which burnt the insulator and could of been arcing out because after awhile it was and only running on 7 cylinders.Fixed these problems and booked into to be re tunned on wednesday next week.
