Was looking at 3:9's as well but want to keep rpm at 100km/hr reasonable ie 2400-2600rpm.The pacies seem the go,I was just wondering if there was something better.

Pretty sure 3.89:1's will put you at about 2400rpm @ 100km/h.

Pretty sure the ratio's differ between the 4L and 5L's but all the V8 auto tranny's should have the same ratio. Theres a diff gear speed calculator on here somewhere, if ya do a quick search it should come up.
Remember tyre size affects this aswell, but the calculator takes all that into account.

Also as chr!s said above, what form of tuning/ecu are you using?

Stock ecu with chiptorque chip.Probally around the same power but I'm more of a fan of N/A.Hoping to get around 210-220 rwkw's when all sorted out plus the sound of the thing through the twin exhausts is great.

I bet it sounds great mate, you able to post up a sound clip?
As far as tune goes, i think you'd be better off ditchin the chiptorque and gettin it tuned with a twEECer or a CAPA eliminator chip.

Ixlrate tried the capa elimanator chip and had a lot of probs.Havent heard anything good about them yet.Does the tweecer need the use of a dyno for regular tunning.

I havent heard bad things about the capa chip yet, but then again i havent heard of alot of people using them for the 5.0L's. The twEECer is a much popular form of tuning and i've seen many 5.0L's using this all with great results. Dont think a dyno is compulsory to tune with, if ya have a laptop im pretty sure you can tune while on the fly.

Few minor things were out, valve adjustment, couple of fouled plugs and stall convertor.Hoping to get a bit more out of it with decent extractors and porting lower manifold if needed.

would have thought a stall would make any difference to dyno runs?

when you say porting the manifold, I assume you are refering to match porting/ gasket porting it yeah?
