Hehe idler arms on X series falcons aren't much better.
Everytime i've jacked one up to check the front end you can guarantee the idler was jumping up and down.

I bet an idler arm lasts a lot longer in an "X" series than any model Val, but even so, you dont have have the "X" sitting higher in the front than the rear like you do in the Val with torsion bar front end. Any good looking Val with the front lowered or level is on its bump rubbers unfortunately. At Bathurst the Vals lost around 10mph topend because of the loss of aerodynamics with the front high enough to stiffen the front suspension enough to get them around the corners.

But all the same, in 1980 with a set of basic engine sensors controlling the ignition timing on a carburated engine, Chrysler Australia had a car pulling 205+hp and yielding 35mpg, a feat still not accomplished by ford with fuel injection and other expensive electronic crap. Long live the memory of what might have been...and yeah..Hey Charger \/....

LOL while you are talking Hemi 6's I don't recommend the 215 (3.5L), it is undersquare, stroke is much bigger than bore, it sounds like it is reving hard until you check it with a taco.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_A ... engine#215

I had one in a Centura and if the car wasn't around 1150kg it would have been a slug, I still kick my self for not keeping it and fitting a 265, it was Kermit the frog green, straight, shiny chrome, white seats and I fitted EF/EL exchaser rims (saved me painting them silver), I machined the centres out of the rims to suit the Chrysler larger hub. I sold it in Rockhampton because I couldn't drive two cars back to Singo, and the engine had developed a tappet like rattle and it wasn't lifters LOL

that's what I did to my VJ, sept, I fitted my Speedy Longchamp mags, had to machine the inside to fit...

The one thing alot of people told me about the Hemi 6's is they don't like to be reved right up.

I had a 360 powered CL Panel van with drifter stripes, 727 tranny and dana a*** end.

Its Criminal to power a mopar by ford. Besides they built the val motors alot more reliable too.

Love that Challenger...
If there is one thing the U.S. did right from the late 60's, it was designing some of those muscle cars.

Holy crap, I didn't expect to get this much of a response. Im going to let Benny know about that 360. Well if the 245 has this much potential, if the 360 falls through we'll start doing it up or swapping it out for a 265.

360's will spin bearings if you rev them too hard without oiling mods...

there is so much more on the market for vals form pentastar parts and also hemi peformance so u can buy all the existing mounts and all , even to suit a 440 magnum 8-) .

better to keep it in the family.
