the engine was run to 6000rpm and peak the recorded peak power was at 6000rpm. the article doesn't show power after that point.
They don't state why the stopped the run at 6000. on the baseline runs they took the engine past it peak power rpm.

still 370 odd HP with perfect road manners is good engine.

You cant change cam timing with a rocker ratio change you need an adjustable, multi keyway timing set to change it.....

Bugger my degree wheel and dial indicator must be chinese :D

Larger ratio rockers will accelerate the valve opening and closing so compared to a stock cam the valve timing is definately altered at various crank degrees compared to a stocker.

This article may explain it better and note the heading of the final graph :D .

But I did add a smiley as yes it is still using a stock cam and hence impressive.

ozrunner - i agree with you on the valve timing, diferent rocker ratio changes everything. The valve will open quicker, stay open longer and close quicker

fyi people i made 168rwkw/230rwhp with stock cam which is close to 300hp @ the fly with E7's albeit ported and a stock EB XR8 cam. The only parts on the car without a ford part number where the U/D pullies and extractors

If there is no lift on the cam, there is still no lift at the valve.
0 x 1.7 is still zero.

seat timing? please explain

a rocker ratio change will alter timing at lift, ie the point of 50thou lift will alter and so on. full lift will be at the same point.

seat timing won't change, it's the same camshaft, it will begin to lift the valve off its seat at the same point and it will reseat the valve at the same point.

One thing to remember that the dynos they use over there are a fair bit different to ours. They read considerably higher than what ours do. I assume their baseline run was on a stock configuration. 250rwhp with e7s and ho manifold? I think my car as stock with e7s and ho manifold made 170 odd rwhp, then with u/d, maf, exhaust and tweecer I got 211rwhp. Stock US over stock Aussie, there's around a 30% difference at the wheels! If you take the 30% off their final figure, you're looking at around 250rwhp...

the one i'm talking about was all done on an engine dyno,

they also make mention of the difference between STP and SAE correction factors, in this case it was 251hp STP or 225hp SAE. (which is almost spot on what that particular engine is rated at by Ford.

Oh ok, when I read the details of the car they used I assumed it was done on a chassis dyno.

It might have paid for me to read the article :)
