With the way the AUS dollar is climbing against the greenback, it could be cheaper than listed in a few months.
As for the motor, I think my motor is just a little short of 400fwhp at the moment but I run the GT40P heads. Would have expected a little more from the 5.8L listed though.

I'm not sure what a Mustang weights but I'm guessing around 1500kg ?
Should go pretty good with a 400hp motor in it, compared to our heavy late model cars.

If you look through my build thread, there is a spread sheet for the cost of bits and peices. My total cost came to just under 4k, but i already had the heads. So it would be possible to build one for the same or similar money.

They will get cheaper. Try also Surburban imports, they have some good prices on F-truck 351 factory remanufactured motors in both 302 and 351.

Also i believe eagle used to do a 351 fully dressed for 4500 or so.

With all those parts that looks like a good deal but....
Just watch those places with built engines. A mate of mine got one of those $4500 jobs from eagle and it overheats all the time. Pulled the heads and found it to be .060" over after they claim not go more than .030". They basically told him to jam it.
American direct parts in Qld have F4 roller shorts for about $850 last time I checked....probably even better now.
