What are peoples recommendations and experiences with plugs and leads on the 5.0 ?

Are the plugs (thread/size) the same between E7 and GT40 heads?

Original plugs and leads were different. These ones are not factory issue.

I run iridiums gapped to 25thou(FOR NOS) and 10mm top gun leads. Is more than enough for the 140 at the wheels without NOS and 220 with NOS. Just my opinion tho

You need to shop around I just bought iridiums for my AU 5.6 for $88 and my EF 5.0 was $99 all GST inclusive part numbers are different between the two models.
P.S. got mine from Coventry Auto Parts.

Definitely NGK Iridiums as it is a bit of a b**ch to change plugs on the Windsor every 20,000kms!! Call Joe (Crescent Motorsport) as he can get them for you at around $7 each. A lot cheaper than the $20 each at auto stores.

As for leads, I've had Eagle and they've never failed me. Topgun fall to pieces.. Again, Joe seems to think a brand from Queensland he sells is 'teh sex'.

GT40P NGK Iridium part number is TR55IX, great plug but they aren't cheap.

You will need different plugs between the E7 and the GT40.

I think I might have a set for E7 heads laying around in my garage... Cos I got new leads and plugs when I killed valve springs (and didnt know it was the valve springs at the time)..

then... I put the AFR heads on anyway - and they take the same plugs as the GT40's

Champion 9mm leads. Bosch plugs, 1 (or 2?) ranges cooler than standard and gapped @ 1.1mm for forced induction.... gap makes for some funky idling, lol.

I'm with drone. Plugs can be a real pain in the a**.... one behind altenator comes to mind. But then, think i can stand a few grazed knuckles if saves 20 odd bucks per plug.... these buggers run rich enough to foul em up fairly quick, lol. And I dont think im meant to run iridium with the charger for some reason
