Hey All,

I was just on jegs.com and was looking for some parts and came across a MSD kit to suit 5.0L. Now i was wondering if anyone has purchased these kits or used some of its components example distributor? and what difference it has made to your car.

I just like to outline i do have a stroker 347, the link:

Can be bought at Rocket for well under $500.00...With just module...There's No need for rev limiter on efi engines...
I had one on my engine.. But with low comp and wide spark advance it couldn't stop csossover spark in dissy cap due to strong spark...But they are fine on n/a engines... I'll be fitting the Dis-4 which is required on wasted spark or distributor less ignitions...At present since removing MSD I have to run plug gap at .020 any bigger and spark gets blown out...Engine does run crisper with one fitted...

im running a msd6a, blaster2 coil and the msd tfi dizzy in mine..

i run the 6a and the coil purely because i had them, the dizzy was coz its a $1000 cheaper than a stock replacement.

i wouldnt say it does anything for performance on a stock motor, but my plugs are still very clean after 20,000kms...

Draggin this thread abck to the surface.

I'm after a complete ignition system now for my EL XR8. MSD one.

Need part numbers of bits or a kit that will suit me.
My 5.0L has currently got this

GT40P heads with larger valves
AU 220kw CAM
Port matched heads and Explorer Manifold.
ELGT headers
3" exhaust.
58mm TB and stock MAF.

What is it I need?
