Anyone know if the air flow sensor off an EL GT will plug straight into the standard airflow wiring (connector) on an EL XR8, or is a new connector required?

Also, anyone know the difference in size between the GT sensor and the standard XR8 one??

Normal XR8s have 19lb injectors, so perhaps swap the sensors over.

Of course you realise you can't just plug one in and expect it to work properly?

you will have problems guaranteed, the elgt xr8 sprint and ebgt have the mustang cobra ecu and maf, which has a diffrent flow curve to normal mafs, this will give you headaces

yes but is it not true that if you fit an pigyback computer upgrade into it you can alter the curve or maf settings?

that is true but in billys case i dont think its worth it buying, a 500+ piggy back just for a maf, an aftermarket sensor like the pro-m for 380 would be a bit better

but the added preformance and tuning advantages down the track could make it a worthwhile addition, besides he can afford it :D

What about trying to source a EBGT/ELGT/Sprint/Mustang ECU?
Of course then you'll be wanting the bigger injectors... or did the 185kw EL XR8's already get them?

Probably some merit in this point - get an EL GT EEC (probably easier said than done) and 24# inj if that's what they had.... 3 way relationship between MAF, EEC and injectors.... even then, EL GT EEC probably calibrated for manifold/exhaust etc but not sure how different that would be???

Could get a mustang EEC and Tweecer it, but it's gonna be interesting fitting it to an EL loom. Smartlock, signals for dash etc etc etc... and a 104pin EEC-V harness. Sounds like fun

Yeah, well if he could get a hold of an EL GT ECU, and he's upgrading the MAF, chances are he'll be looking at ditching the E7's pretty f**k fast :D
Doing only the MAF would be silly, as it's more the heads and manifold holding it back.

Thanks for your help guys. Sounds like an aftermarket MAF is the best option, given that I'm not planning to upgrade the injectors or ECU.

Seeing as Pro-M have gone belly-up, I guess I'll be waiting for MrLandau to start selling the Professional Mass Air System units here...... :)
