Hi guys,
what amps do standard alternators run on E series V8's?

Should we be upgrading our alternators if we do say a "top end rebuild", with a lumpier cam that at times causes stalling?

I've got an AU3 Cam in my ELXR8 along with the usual top end rebuild stuff, It's all good in all sorts of driving, I can sits at the lights and it won't stall, but if I'm parking up or downhill where you need short stabs at the throttle, the rev range starts to play up and it will stall.

My TPS's are set at 0.97 & 0.98.

Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Should I be looking at the ignition side?

Definately barking up the wrong tree here.

The issues you have are not alternator related, if anything a nice big cam will have the alternator pumping out more as the revs at idle are generally higher.

Highly recommend a custom tune. Best $1500 I spent. That included a upper to lower manifold gasket and fitting injectors though.

Any ideas anybody?
I may be wrong, but just because I'm running a AU3 Cam, doesn't mean I should have trouble doing simple things like parking in tight spots where you are on and off throttle in quick succession.
I don't think it's the ISC, as it takes load like A/C and P/S fine, TPS's are set right.

Dude, your cam will need a custom tune, due to the way it robs you of vacuum down low, hence the issue when parking and on/off throttle etc. Get it done and then you will be very happy
