The subject pretty much speaks for itself. I've read in a few other threads and forums that people put them in then go and take them out again. Why is this? I was thinking about getting them fitted when I supercharge the motor but am wondering if it's such a good idea if everyone ends up pulling them out again.

the pullies are sized different to standard, smaller i think. makes it easier to turn the pullies so less strain on the donk to run accesories. i think thats the way it works.

By changing the size of the pulleys on the crankshaft and accessories (alternator, water pump etc), you change the gearing acheived through the accessory belt.

By changing the gearing, you alter the relationship of the power/speed/torque which is required to drive each accessory - and therefore change the amount of the engine's power which is absorbed by driving the accessories.

Yeah i think for the actual change in the pulley sizes (prob only a few % difference), the tensioner would be able to cope with the difference.

There are two sets available from BPT. Street series consists of just the one crankshaft pulley and requires a smaller belt and race series consists of 3 pulleys crankshaft, alternator and water pump and this kit uses your original standard size belt.
Hope this helps, Jeff

I'm going to get the supercharger done at BPT so I guess it's good to know they have the kits. However, is there someone out there whose had them in then pulled them out and can tell me why they've done so???

I had heard that they actually change the turn ratio so that the accessories turn slower and in some cases too slow. Any truth to that?
