Ride: AU1 XR8

Just a quick question is $24.000 too much for an AU3 XR8.

I test drove it and it drove nice sort of like a floating lounge, power was ho hum did have a nice note to it.

Car has leather premium sound and is a manual with 80.000 kays on the clock.

Now you dont buy these cars for luxury you buy for performance, how much would i have to spend to get down into the 13's.

I think the asking price is way too high. I have my AU3 XR8 with Herrod Exhaust and lowered Kings Springs and less than 70,000klms listed on Carpoint for $20,900..........

as said, 24k is too high. i'd go a ba xr8 for that money but some still prefer the windsor. personal choice really. i much prefer the ba interior also.

as for getting it into 13's, a decent cam some shorter diff gears and full exhaust would just about nudge you into the high 13's.

Could NEARLY buy a T3 TE50 for that coin, could definitely get a T1/T2 and plenty of change.

*EDIT*
CAN BUY A T3 for that money:

I bought my XR8 220 2 months ago for $18k privately....It had 75000k's, full leather, premium sound and auto. The car drives like new!! Many told me I should have gone the BA....I previously owned a BA XR6 T and it was fast but the XR8 has more character.....Especially at legal speeds!!!!! It sytands out more aswell.....

I think that is way too high.
I bought mine about 1 1/2 years ago. It has full options with leather, premium sound and sunroof and had 70,000kms on it. Its a manual and I picked it up for $18.5k.
Mine is running low 14's at the moment in full street trim. So it should easily dip into the 13's if I stripped abit of unnecessary weight out :D
