What month 2001? The 220 didn't come in till late 01 the 220 had the tickford wings on the throttle body 200 didn't it should definately be a 200 should have a tag on the drivers side rocker cover saying who built it.
If all else fails ring ford customer serive with the chassis number and build date and they will tell you.

thats a good deal the main difference between the 2 motors is that the 220 kw breathes a bit easier bit if ur planning on modding then youll be quicker again i say take the deal if u like the car then enjoy the v8 rumble

No the late model AUII have them (may onwards) it will have a 220 badge on the back and also have the engine builders badge on the side of the engine. I own one myself.

I have a mate who has an AU, dont know whether its a II or a III, and he's got the 220 donk (rocker cover tag, TB and all) but nothing written on the backof his car to indicate its a 220, and he got it brand new like that.
It was when the 220 was first released

hi guys thanks for the replies yes the car is a september build and it has the 220 badge at the back ive put a $500 deposit on it with the conditions that i get my loan and that the racv check passes my standards.

final price $26,700 on road with 3 years (like new car warranty) after the standard 3 months used car warranty expires. i figured an extra $700 is worth it for peace of mind.

here are some pics of my *soon to be* beast
