Evening all, is tappet, or a noticable clicking noise normal when idling?
I have a AUIII xr8 (cant tell from my user name!!) |

Is it coming from the left hand side under the guard?
My AU is doing the same, especially when cold, my mates AU 2 also done it. It's the solenoid on the purge canister in the front of the left hand guard. Not sure if they're meant to do it or not, been meaning to ask? |

Can't tell if it is the LHS, but very noticable, even to the missus who is a missus when it comes to cars.
I assumed it was the tappets being a windsor, but you have brought up a very valid point. |

The solonoid is a common problem, and can be replaced. Mine was done under warranty so not sure on price.
