The first series (BA) got 220kw & 470nm, mark 2 BA and BF got 230kw & 500nm and they raised the rev limit from 5250 up to 5500 on series 2 BA.
Diff ratio was 3.23 i think. Grab a motor magazine and look up the back it should have everything u need.

What mods do you have done to your EA.

You know, just in case you ever have to face one at the "drags" so you can see if you will beat him to the "quarter mile"

Would love to think i could get an 8 to 1/4 but my and most i6's dont have the legs as an 8,got him of the line but that could be put down to reaction time.

Mods,

MPFI conv, 3;45 LSD, stage2 crow cam, hi comp port polish head, 2.5in redback(stock cat and extractors) 5spd man, 24lb injectors, AUIII xr8 snorkel, el airbox with pod filter inclosed and sum minor fuel strategy tweaks sum up engine mods.

Havent run a 1/4 yet but should be goin soon. Hopeing for a high 14.

As tested by Motor, BA XT V8 with manual tranny.

As you can see, the quarter mile time isn't toooooo flash, a mildly modded manual XR6 should better that???

Let us know how you go either way.

a mildly modded xr6 may beat it but the money you spend mildly modding the xr6 could also be spent mildly modding the v8. i was looking around for a little while for xt v8's but not many around.

Just a little bit off topic guys, but you guys in Oz have it sweet, We in NZ cant buy an XT or Futura V8, The cheapest V8 we can get into is a Fairmont V8. Or an XLS V8 Ute. Id love to see an XT V8.

the good lads at aussie car have put thier BA V8 manual into the mid-low 13's with basic mods, ie CAI LSD EXHAUST etc.

The 3V engine is a nice piece of work..

Here in SA, there are soo many BA XT V8's and they are all icemint duco, which isn't quite right for me, saving grace beign there are quite a few monts around tho,

as far as weight im guessing what 50kg odd heavier than the six ???

Aussie cars xt is fast but it was a big spend to get it there because of there low bang for your buck mentality which is because of preserving new car warranty!

spend the same money theh did and could slap a blower and exhaust on with change

Nice car but just a show pony for the parts they stock and install.

the point of the car to me seemed to be more so about being pioneers in development to obtaining the most out of the 3v engine, and proving that it's a very good alternative to the dime a dozen XR & FPV models, so anything that is the first in its feild will cost a few bucks to get it right. And you'd now never have to spend the time and money they did, cos its already been done, now you just do as they have done..

No such thing as a Futura V8 over here, either.
