it all comes down to mods.. but as said the XR6T is the faster one when stock

every article i've ever read the xr8 is quicker than the turb in a straight line. not by much but it is quicker. in gear acceleration may favour the turb but not sure. around a track the turb is quicker as the xr8 suffers from the wieght up front.

so, in stock form the xr8 is quicker down the 1/4

really?
i havent seen any that say that...
cars magazine didnt, car point didnt...

anyway, regardless, the XR6T is lighter therefore much quicker off the line.
i dunno a hole heap about the boss engines, exept they weigh a tonne, but if people are correct saying they lack low end tourque, it all makes sence.
anyway.... spend $3500 and get a stage 3 turbo upgrade- 350 kw they rekon (flywheel i assume)

Err.... do u mean they get this from factory, or are you talking aftermarket.. Mine has a 3.48 lsd from factory...

i think with mk2 or bf the diffs got upgraded. 3.7's was one of them.

The series 1 BA manual XR8s had a 3.23 diff ratio from memory, which was upgraded to 3.45 in the mkII, autos ran the 3.45 ratio from the beginning.

The 3.7 ratio diff was introduced on the 6 cylinder BA mkII 6 speed manuals, but the V8s have the 3.45 gears

The BF manuals currently still have these ratios - even FPV - 6s run 3.7, 8s run 3.45

Hi In2XG, are you sure it doesn't say 3.46? Sometimes they can be really hard to read.

By the way that is quite an impressive quarter mile time, have you had to do many mods to achive this? My stock 6 speed manual only manages 14.4 sec

Cheers

It may do, ill get under there and have another look...

Mods i have done to it so far are a Generic BPT Tune (off the shelf if you like) Pacemaker Headers with a Dual 2 1/2 zorst, with a CAI snorkle, K & N filter, 4inch inlet tube and a helix spacer... thats about it

Had 32psi in the tyres when i ran.. so theres still plenty more in it Ran a 13.72, so 13.6's are there....
