Hey guys... i have just had an arguement with some guy for about 2 hours now... I think that the EL XR8 with the 185kw engine would be quiker than the 6cyl 182kw XT... I have found that the XR8 is a fair bit lighter than the XT... and also has more power... The only way that i belive that the XT could be quicker... is the gear ratios are shorter... Other than that... the stats show that the XR8 in theory should be a quicker car.
Anyone know any SOLID stats... quartermile times and 0-100 times?

Thanks

my thoughts would be dependant on whats been done to the cars. stock versus stock assuming theyre both autos id say your looking at a aline ball race.. maybe the XR8 cos it's slightly lighter. Modded up well depends on bits and pieces you can never really tella as some cars react well to certain mods.

Ive seen BA's dip into 14's with exhaust, Edit, CAI mods etc , you should see the EL XR8 into 14's on exhaust and CAI and maybe stall convertor, or a MANUAL!

Havnt heard alot of talk about EL 2 xr8's. although soedays when I drive mine it feels like a low 15 second car.

Stock Auto XT = mid to high 15's generally.
I've got timeslips from a mate, who pulled a best of 15.7, seems to be about the average.
Some a little bit quicker.
No idea on Auto 185 ELXR8s.

Mine with those mods runs a 14.7 - according to Wheels they got an auto BF XT down the quarter in 15.6.

I can just keep with a stocker series 1 AU XR8.. the XT should be slightly quicker then the EL. There wouldn't be much in it though, and it the EL was a manual you can say goodbye XT.

I don't have any SOLID stats on an EL2 XR8 (I think Timmeh has ran 15.7 or something), but a good, healthy, stock BA auto XT should be running mid 15's.

If the XR8 was a manual, I'd say the EL2 XR8.

If the XR8 was an auto, I'd say it would be so close that it would be down to driver ability and conditions.

How did the arguement start?

As i recall, my 5.0L futura with no mods apart from catback was pretty much the same as a BA XT.

I'd give an ELXr8II the nod, regardless of transmission. Original ELXR8 would be on par IMO...

Hmmmm, seems like there is a fair bit of variations in BA quarter mile times.

Some people have seen 15.1's from a stock. Others say mid 15's and now you say that you have seen BA's that were pullin 15.9....

Weird s**t :)
