Both cams are pretty similar in specs and will go quite well with a 5.0 - and give you a little more room to move when you start doing a few more mods. The 2030 is slightly more aggressive than the 2031 but can be used with satndard ratio rockers.

So can a 2030 cam be put straight in an AU without any other modifications? Still need new springs?

The springs will need to be uprated on both cams. Both use the same crane valvespring set, locks and retainers.

What sort of inlet and heads are you using or intend to use ????
SVO and the Crane cams mainly work on aftermarket or ported GT40 heads...The SVO cams have power from 2500 rpm on..Imo there are cams that work under that rpm and with our heavy cars here work better..The other option is to change final drive to say 3.7 then these cams would be on sweet spot most the time...
