300-350rwhp is asking abit much mate.

270-290rwhp will do you fine mate and be a more reasonable figure, especially on your budget.

Trust me you will NOT be dissapointed with around 200kw @ the wheels, you wont be able to wipe the smile off your face, while your blitzing past that AU XR6

As millard455 said, you'd be mad not to give yella terra a call and get some of those GT40P's with a set of adjustable roller rockers, and as EBXR8380 said a set of 1.7 rockers on the std HO cam gives a nice increase and teamed with the heads, explorer and t/b etc will be a very stout little combo.

How about if we change the budget, I mean i would like to do this asap but if i have to wait to have it done properly with the right parts i can wait i guess.
So what what would i need to be around the 300rwhp mark?

mate if i was you i would get some gt40p,s at that price you wont beat it ..and do what EB380 said get springs etc and save up for the rest ...and while your saving do some research on porting the gt40p,s and get your heads all set up,spring heights etc ,3 angle valve job etc
then by the time youve saved for the rest , the heads are set and your ready to rumble 8-)

Stroke it, or alot more revs out of the 5L.
But then its a slippery slope, splitting blocks, 351 deck blocks with 7Ls etc. etc.

Can you afford to even race it ???
Stroking alone won't make much more power with std induction.. It will turn it into a truck motor...

Id really pay mind and follow xh5lwepn's advice. This guy has his sh!t together, and of all the V8 related stuff Ive read on here, he knows what is hot and whats not.

and the diff gears is a good idea, since it will see you with a bit more RPM load up out of each turn. dont go too far though, coz then traction becomes and issue.
