I have a 2.5inch system on the back of extractors and factory cats.

The 2.5 inch system is the stock system except that the two muffler have been changed. the rear muffler is now a hotdog resonator and the middle muffler a hooker aero chamber muffler. The car sounds pretty much stock, just slight note and a bit of growl when revved.

Would a 2.5 inch straight through muffler outperform the hooker aero muffler? Also is my setup equal to say a redback 2.5 inch sports system??

I thought the standard system is 2.5 inch and stainless so why turf it for a mild steel system of the same size? Just put free flowing mufflers through... am I wrong or does this acheive the same result??

hooker aero or 2.5 inch straight through??

I'm running twin 2.5" mandrel system with two Hooker Aerochambers and 2 Magnaflow resonators under the rear. I'm very happy with the note, quite deep but no droning and nice and quiet at cruising speeds. I must be getting old I really don't like loud exhausts on like these (luxury cars TE50 Fairmont etc), but my system is set up with flanges so I can dump the rear tailpipes for the drags or cruises.

However while it is louder it detracts from the car, makes it boom and vibrate.

How is the exhaust now? eg. A cat off each pair of extractors, then into a muffler each side, then into one pipe & through another muffler ?

Performance wise there is nothing wrong with them... My stock 200kw TE went 226rwhp with this exhaust and no other mods

search google, im prety sure i remember reading that they claim the hooker aerochamber will produce more power than a straight piece of pipe but it could have been one of their other mufflers too, cant remember.

My car is hurricane extractors, twin cats (factory cats but opened up), standard y piece into single 2.5 inch, one hooker aero chamber and rear hotdog resonator.

Im only interested in power, which setup is best? will any other setup yield more power than my current setup. Car is stock just k&N
