Right fellas,

My falcon has decided to go on major shut down with most of the systems...

Alternator not charging???

Refusing to start in the morning...even after bash the dash and key rebooting...Thinking the problem might be in the barrel itself

Broken spark plug. been replaced.

Yes there is power to the coil. got a nice heart starter from it. The fuel pump is brand new may have done about 5000km's. She gets regular oil changes.

All senors have been cleaned or replaced. Fuses and relays checked. They seem okay. help!!! at wits end with this car...Need it to get the corty on the road!!! :x

Smartlock system?

When I was working as a mechanic we had a customer with an ED whose smartlock was continuously playing up, with the symptons you describe...

Smartlock module itself dead? try bridging the red wires on the connector, i think that is the trick that bypasses smartlock

i had a similar sounding problem in my old EB the accesories would turn on but it wouldnt crank over, like when u dont have it in N or P, but found it was the smartlock module, was to expensive to buy a new one so i got an auto sparky mate to resolder all the joints on the P.C.B and she never missed a beat.

Just brought a second hand one yesterday...Just spent three hours retraining...no go...put the other one back in and she cranks over but no spark...it is strange that the spark happens when you go to turn the ignition off...Getting exteremlly frustrated now...looking at putting a match down the fuel tank...

Have a bit more details now

Key in postion 2 the fuel pump is priming and the smartlock light will flare for about 3 seconds then faded to never to return until the car is switched off...She is cranking...Starter motor is going but nothing else is!!! She seems to be working but just refuse to start...Any more ideas???

Check cabin fuse.. Is the inside lights or boot light working ?? This circuit supplies smartlock...
Suspect coil ???

Starting to sound more like coil ??
Check ALL battery connections..
Invest in test lamp if on budget..
Should have hot wire to coil...

Okay...improvised with the test light...Light on with the key in the on position but no light on the cranking position...Went under dash and unplugged the wires at the side of the barrel where the E-PROM sits(i think)...some codes came out at 4 flashes each...then the light stayed on...The nearest sparky that i trust is over 85 kms away...Tested coil...seems fine...Does anyone have info on the BEM or BCM???
