im building this purely for burnouts and drag racing so im not fussed bout fuel economy etc

Are you planning to use an aftermarket piggy-back or 'twEECr' tune on it?

If not TFS1, Crow 621371, Comp XE266HR or a Crane 2031 is about it.

None of these are what I'd call "big"

I'd look at some 3.9 gears before chasing power from a cam swap.

go twin 3" mandrel and a 100 shot of nos with 4.11s you should run low 13s high 12s. Youre gona rebuild anyway go out with a bang. a mate had a 220kw au auto and he ran a high 12 on a 150 shot

Got a pic of it?
'94-'95 stangs had the 5.0 with the s**t curved upper intake.
Of course the older HO intake will still fit.
The '94-'95 Mustang Cobra's had the GT40 engine with the Cobra intake which also had the curved upper but being a Cobra intake these are much better.
The '86 HO had the horrible E6 heads.
