does anyone know of any block difference between the first eb blocks and the au's ????

as im looking for a spare block to build up with a 347 stroker and will want to use my heads and stock efi system and want the blocks to be as close as possible.

i wouldnt have thought the bellhousing pattern would have been different even with auto and manual through the years, but engine mount positions etc and any knock sensors or things like that what screw into the block, that could screw my day when it eventually goes in

all the same as far as I know. the biggest changes took place between the roller and the flat tappet blocks, however both still have the same bellhousing and engine mount bolt patterns

Except for early 5 bolt 289's all ford smallblocks(C & W) have the same bellhousing bolt pattern and engine mount pattern and location. None have knock sensor provision.
