hey guys. I own a 03 model BA XR6 5 speed manual. It was / still is my first car and its my absoulute pride and joy. I rarely drive it since work is 5 mins up the road i walk and have only done 17 000 kms in 2 years.

I could never sell the car because theres something about it which i just love. I am keen to do a boss 260 conversion and want to eventually supercharge it, but i just want it to be an ongoing project that i can keep for years to come. I know what your all thinking it would be cheaper to sell my car and just buy a ba xr8. I am aware of this and have been told, but at the same time as you all know... we get attached to our cars.

I've been told that i will have to change the k Frame, and diff??

Can anyone give me any advice on ------ / general help / pricing / parts

any info would be much appreciated

thanks shannon

Seriously, get an XR8 instead.

There's soooo much different you'll spend a lot more (and I mean a lot) doing the conversion.

XR6T's and XR8's got stronger drive lines. A XR6 n/a is just an XT with kit and suspension.

just turbo it... a lot cheaper and easier to do than a BOSS conversion methinks. and turbo should go a lot harder than the boss too.

it would probs still end up being around the same price..

and nothing beats the sound of a v8 as we would all agree!!

I know its not exactly what you want.. but why not look at the raptor superchargers, Surly that would be alot easier, and it you want it to be an on going project, get the raptor 'r' and later on you can get your engine rebuilt, change the pulleys for some good power.

cheers

^ Gotta agree there, the only way to start justifying what you want is to buy a wrecked xr8 and swap bits over. If i were you, and wanted a blown Boss, i would piss off the xr6 and buy an xr8 and with the money saved from doing a conversion i would get a PD charger with a built motor :) A car is a car and you will get attached to a new car too.

If you do go with the v8, may as well go the 290 boss. Hope you have deep pokets but.
